Media City Salford Quays Manchester

After what seems about 6 months of constant rain Manchester is at least basking in a spell of prolonged sunshine!! What better time to wander around Media City with a camera!

Hi Harriet Thanks so much and thanks for your very kind comments. Keep an eye ion the weather and visit on a sunny day and Manchester is a rare and lovely lovely thing if you can ignore the traffic and the chaos bequeathed by our council and politicians 🙂 Fortunately those gone by left us lots to look at and admire. I hadn’t visited this area of Manchester myself for quite some time until very recently since the completion of media city and the opening of the new BBC, ITV, and relocation of Coronation street, and i love it . It has a very distinctive and contemporary feel that in my opinion works very well in this setting. Parts of it remind me of Bilbao in northern Spain, but equally i am reminded of the science park in Valencia. Fabulous and well worth a viust particularity if you can find a dry and sunny day when it just glimmers and shimmers!

Hi Cathy and thanks for stopping by and taking the time to leave a comment and thanks you for your kind compliments. You know it really is interesting as after many years of living in the city i am still discovering new element views and details to the buildings that surround me, to the extent that just when I think I cannot be moire familiar with a street, a view and its building, my eye is caught by a missed element. It reminds me to look up, always look up, as there is so much above the ground floor and the mobile phone 🙂

Gorgeous photos – my family are from Manchester – my father was born in Salford! I have never been to this part. We did the Coronation Street tour of the original studios. Kaz x
